Tokyo Street Photos for January
26 January 2009
Introduction
Relatively cold: everyone in black tights!
Omotesando streets were relatively sparse this month, as everyone's economic anxiety seems to be preventing the normal January shopping sprees. (The standard 30% discount was also pretty disappointing for bargain hunters.)
When not wearing denim, almost all of our well-dressed women wore black tights, mostly solid but with some patterned examples mixed in. Furry hats and boots continue to be popular, but basic pumps also made a strong showing.
Also worth noting: the fur-collar Mod military "parka" seems to have become a standard part of Japanese women's winter wardrobe while no one was looking.
